The Art Gallery of Algoma
The Art Gallery of Algoma is a public gallery dedicated to cultivating and advancing the awareness of visual arts in Sault Ste. Marie and district. Approximately 24 exhibitions are mounted a year featuring local, national and international artists, as well, there is an ever growing permanent collection of 4000 works of art.
Agawa Canyon Tour Train
Welcome aboard one of the most spectacular train excursions in North America. This one day wilderness excursion will take you 114 miles north of Sault Ste. Marie, over towering trestles, alongside pristine northern lakes and rivers, and through the awesome granite rock formations and mixed forests of the Canadian Shield.

The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre
The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre is located in the historic waterfront aviation hanger that was once home to the Ontario Provincial Air Service. Guided individual or group tours are available on request. You are also welcome to simply browse at your leisure. Our gift shop offers unique aviation memorabilia including crested t-shirts, sweatshirts and pants, hats, pins, and books.

Crimson Ridge Golf Course
Crimson Ridge is a scenic and challenging 18 hole championship golf course located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Crimson Ridge boasts many natural features of a spectacular Northern Ontario landscape. Waterfalls, creeks, numerous elevation changes, mature hardwoods and spectacular views and vistas await you on this scenic par 72 layout. Other nearby golf courses include: Root River, Superior View and Maplewood, all are within a half hour drive of the cottage.
The Old Stone House
Visit this historic site and witness the history Sault Ste. Marie and its contribution to Canada's industrial revolution. The story of the Ermatinger House is interwoven with the history of 19th Century Canada, with the tales of voyageurs, settlers, writers and artists who often spent the night at the stately stone house on the north side of the St. Mary's River as they made their way across Canada.
Agawa Indian Crafts
Nestled along the shores of Lake Superior this is your one stop shop for Native and Canadian art. Agawa Indian Crafts is an incredible collection of North American Native Art and crafts including mocassins, beadwork, pottery, basketry, leathercraft silverwork, ceremonial masks, barkwork, soapstone, and much more. The Canadian Carver boasts a wealth of hand carved items from around the country as well as limited edition prints, paintings and lithographs from some of the world's most recognized artists.
Of course the greatest summer attractions are the spectacular sand beaches lining the coast of beautiful Lake Superior. You won't find these beaches on the world wide web, you will just have to come see them for yourself. Must see nearby beaches include Pancake Bay, Batchewanna Bay, Harmony Beach and Catherine's Cove.
Winter Attractions
Searchmont Ski Resort
Be sure to visit "the Rocky Mountains of the Midwest"... that's what visitors from the U.S. and Canada call Searchmont Resort! Boasting a 700' vertical, 4 chairlifts and over 20 runs, these are mountains with personality...giving you a different terrain experience on every trail, and making runs longer and more scenic. Additional features include one of the largest snowboard parks in the Midwest with a 300' halfpipe, as well as numerous cross country skiing trails.
Heyden Ski Hill
Located less than 10 minutes from the cottage, this quaint resort is ideal for some fun night skiing, or just a great low-cost option for beginners. Typically enjoying a 40 cm base of natural powder, this resort also includes newly developed snowshoe trails for those looking something different.
Butttermilk Alpine Skiing
Also within a 10 minute drive is beautiful Buttermilk hill which also features night skiing on week nights, and day skiing during weekends. Don't pass up the opportunity to enjoy authentic German-Austrian culinary delights at Buttermilk's Schnitzel Haus.
Stokely Creek Cross Country Skiing
Just minutes from Superior Point cottage is some of the finest cross-country skiing trails in the area at beautiful Stokely Creek Lodge and Ski Touring Centre. Featuring 130 km of well marked trails through 8840 acres of privately-protected land Stokely Creek offers skiers spectacular views of Batchewana Bay and Lake Superior. Trails are groomed for classic sliding and trailing on a rolling glacier terrain and offer great skiing for all skill levels.
The Ontario Winter Carnival: Bon Soo
If you happen to visit in late January, early February be sure to check out northern Ontario's premiere winter attraction: The Bon Soo Winter Carnival. Witness fun events like the snow sculpture competition and the legendary Polar Bear Swim.
